WEEX Review 2026: Fees, No-KYC Trading & 400x Leverage, Honestly Assessed

If no-KYC trading with deep altcoin futures sounds like your thing, WEEX will show up on your radar: 1,000-plus assets, 400x futures, published proof of reserves, and a 1,000 BTC protection fund. It is a capable derivatives venue, but the thin regulation, weak support reviews, and extreme leverage need to be said plainly.

What WEEX is

If you want altcoin futures without handing over your ID, WEEX is built for exactly that. It launched in 2018 and now reports 6 to 10 million users across 150-plus countries, with over 1,000 assets listed, 640-plus spot pairs, and more than 1,000 perpetual futures contracts. In 2025 it signed footballer Michael Owen as brand ambassador, which tells you who it is marketing to.

Fees and costs

WEEX official fee schedule showing VIP futures fees of 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker at the base tier

Spot trading costs 0.10% maker and taker at the base tier. Futures cost 0.02% maker and 0.08% taker at the base tier, falling across 8 VIP tiers qualified by volume or WXT holdings. BTC withdrawals cost a fixed 0.00016 BTC, which is cheaper than many competitors. Check the official fee page before you trade, since fee pages change.

How to sign up and start trading

Getting started on WEEX is quick, and like BYDFi, you can trade without verifying your identity. The limits for unverified accounts are generous, but know them before you deposit.

  1. Go to the WEEX website or app and register with your email or phone number.
  2. You can trade right away without KYC. Unverified accounts can withdraw around 50,000 USDT per transaction and 500,000 USDT per day.
  3. Optional: complete KYC in your account settings for higher limits.
  4. Turn on two-factor authentication before you deposit anything.

WEEX blocks US users and restricts several regulated markets. Check your country first, and never use a VPN to bypass restrictions.

How to deposit

WEEX's fiat infrastructure is limited, so most users fund with crypto. That is the smoothest route here.

  1. Log in, open your Assets or Wallet, and choose Deposit.
  2. Select the coin and network, then send from your wallet or another exchange to the deposit address shown.
  3. Double-check the network before you send. A wrong network can mean lost funds.
  4. For a first deposit, send a small test amount and confirm it arrives.

WEEX also offers P2P trading if you need a fiat route in your region.

How to buy crypto step by step

Spot trading on WEEX is straightforward. If you are tempted by the futures tab, read the leverage warning below first and practice on the demo account.

  1. Go to the Spot trading section.
  2. Pick your pair, for example BTC/USDT.
  3. Place a market order for an instant fill at 0.10%, or a limit order to set your own price.
  4. Enter the amount, review, and confirm. Your crypto lands in your WEEX wallet.

Start small while you learn the interface, and use the demo account before putting real money at risk.

How to withdraw

Withdraw to your own wallet regularly and keep only active trading funds on the exchange.

  1. Open Assets or Wallet and choose Withdraw.
  2. Pick the coin and paste your external wallet address. Make sure the network matches.
  3. BTC withdrawals cost a fixed 0.00016 BTC; other coins carry network-based fees.
  4. Confirm with your two-factor and email codes.

Always test a new address with a small amount first. It costs very little and buys real peace of mind.

No-KYC trading

WEEX does not require KYC to trade. Unverified accounts face withdrawal limits around 50,000 USDT per transaction and 500,000 USDT per day, which is generous by no-KYC standards. Completing verification raises limits further. This is the exchange's main draw, and a genuine differentiator from the majors.

The trade-off is the same as everywhere else in this segment: no-KYC venues operate with thinner regulatory protection. US users are blocked, and several regulated markets are restricted or unofficial. Do not use a VPN to bypass restrictions.

The 400x leverage warning

WEEX offers up to 400x leverage on BTC and ETH perpetual futures. At 400x, a 0.25% price move against your position liquidates it. On Bitcoin, that is a move that happens in minutes on ordinary days.

High leverage is marketed as opportunity; mathematically it is a near-certain path to losing the position. If you are new to trading, use the demo account, never trade leverage with money you cannot afford to lose, and understand that most leveraged retail traders lose money. This applies on every exchange, and especially on one advertising 400x.

Proof of reserves and the protection fund

WEEX proof of reserves page showing reserve ratios above 100% for BTC, ETH, and USDT

WEEX publishes proof-of-reserves snapshots and maintains a 1,000 BTC protection fund in a public Bitcoin address. The 30 September 2026 snapshot showed reserve ratios of 146.39% for BTC, 124.46% for ETH, and 100.02% for USDT, meaning reserves exceeded user holdings for all three. See the live proof-of-reserves page for the current figures.

The honest qualifier: this is a self-published snapshot, not an independent audit at the standard set by the most regulated exchanges. It is better than nothing, which is what most no-KYC venues offer, but it is not the same as audited reserves.

Regulation and reputation

WEEX holds US FinCEN and Canadian FINTRAC money-services registrations, which are AML registrations, not licences to operate a supervised exchange. It holds no major-jurisdiction licence such as MiCA authorization. There is no reported major hack in its history, which counts for something.

The reputation data is mixed. Trustpilot sits around 2.4 to 2.9 out of 5 across roughly 500 reviews, with recurring complaints about customer support and withdrawal friction on obscure pairs. Take review-site scores with appropriate skepticism, angry users review more than happy ones, but the pattern is consistent enough to mention.

Copy trading, WXT, and Earn

Copy trading is a core WEEX product: follow lead traders, with the lead trader taking 10% of your net profit from copied trades. Past performance predicts nothing, and most copy traders lose money, so treat it as a tool, not a strategy. The platform also offers P2P trading, an Earn product, and the WXT native token for fee discounts and incentives.

What users say: ratings

Our verdict is our own, but it is worth seeing how other users rate WEEX on public platforms. These are third-party ratings, checked in October 2026, and they move over time.

PlatformRating
Trustpilot2.4 out of 5 (~450 reviews)
Google Play4.0 out of 5 (~16K)
Apple App Store4.6 out of 5 (~1.5K)

Trustpilot skews toward disputes and the review base is small; app-store users rate the mobile experience higher.

Who it suits, and who should skip it

WEEX suits experienced derivatives traders who want no-KYC access, wide altcoin futures coverage, and copy trading, and who understand exactly what unregulated leverage means. Start on the demo, keep balances small, and withdraw regularly.

Beginners should avoid the leverage entirely and think carefully about whether a no-KYC offshore venue is the right first exchange. If you want licensed, supervised trading, look at Kraken or WhiteBIT instead.

Alternatives

For no-KYC derivatives with deeper liquidity, Bybit is the larger venue. For a similar no-KYC profile with a flat fee structure, BYDFi. For regulated futures with a real licence story, Deribit is the professional choice. Our best crypto exchanges guide compares the leading venues side by side.

Verdict

So where does that leave WEEX? It is a capable no-KYC derivatives exchange with competitive fees, published proof of reserves, and a public protection fund. The missing licence, weak support reviews, and 400x leverage define its risk profile. If you know what you are doing, keep it small and never store funds here. For most beginners, a licensed exchange is the better first account.
