What happened
According to the US Department of Justice, OneCoin operated between 2014 and 2019 and sold a purported cryptocurrency through a global marketing network. Several associates have been convicted. In April 2026 the Justice Department opened a remission process for eligible purchasers.
What failed
US authorities say OneCoin was marketed as a cryptocurrency while functioning as a fraudulent investment scheme.
Current status
The original scheme is defunct. Recovery, if any, is through official legal processes such as onecoinremission.com.

- Do not send a seed phrase to anyone promising a refund.
