What happened
Loopring said it had failed to gain meaningful adoption and had been surpassed by modern zkEVM systems. This is an official product sunset, not a hidden rug pull.
What failed
The original Loopring DEX architecture did not keep users as cheaper L2s arrived. LRC can still exist after the DEX is gone.
Current status
The Loopring DEX/relayer product is obsolete. LRC listings are not proof that the DEX still works.
What users should do
- Use official Loopring notices for refunds. Do not pay a helper to claim a Loopring balance.
Lessons
- Early infrastructure can be sunset when newer designs win.
